Dr. K. Nireekshana Rao
Dr. K. Nireekshana Rao comes from a remote village Gummallapadu of
Kolleru lake in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed high
school as Christian Children’s Fund (CCF) sponsored child. He completed his
post-graduation in social work and started his career as community
development organizer in the same CCF project Noble Family Helper Project
(NFHP). Then he worked with the NGOs like Association for Social and
Humanizing Action (ASHA) and Catholic Health Association of Andhra
Pradesh (CHAAP).
He founded the organization Society for National integration through
Education and Humanizing Action (SNEHA) in the year 1990 along with some
social work professionals and other people who have experience in developmental activities.
He has undergone many training programmes organized by funding agencies and government
departments. He also worked as resource person and organized trainings for the personnel of NGO’s
and government departments. He was trained in Israel during the year 2004 in micro-entrepreneur
development. He was also trained in low-cost housing and Disaster Response organized by Habitat
International at Thailand during the year 2011.
The journey of SNEHA started initially with a fellowship supported by Catholic Health Association of
India and Child Relief and You. SNEHA has implemented many developmental projects with the support
of foreign agencies and various Government departments.
Currently, Dr. Nireekshana Rao and SNEHA is also focusing on climate change, biodiversity restoration,
integral ecology, sustainability, building communities resilience & adaptation to climate change and
disasters.
